My parents taught me and my brother to cook as young kids and it’s been a big part of my life ever since.  Being in the kitchen brings back wonderful memories of cooking with my family and enjoying meals together.  Food is such an important part of life but it’s so much more than just calories and nutrition.  It evokes memories, can comfort you when you’re down and is a way of connecting with loved ones, both present and past.

Now, cooking for friends and family is a way of showing them how much I love them.  From casual weeknight dinners to more elaborate dinner parties, I get great joy from planning and preparing meals.  I love to cook seasonally and try to buy local and organic when given the option.  I’m not perfect but I do the best I can.

My goal is to share with you some of my favorite recipes and culinary adventures on this blog.  Hopefully I inspire you or teach you something along the way!
